2009 Veteran Player of the Year
Christine French, pictured right, was nominated by Vets Tennis GB as the 2009 Veteran Player of the Year and was presented with award on 10 December at the National Tennis Centre by Derek Howorth, LTA President.  Christine started the year by winning the 50 singles title at the European Indoor Championships in January.  In May she was a member of the British Maria Bueno Cup team (Women 50) which won the ITF World Team Championship and also reached the semi-final of the Individual World Championship at that age level.  She is currently ranked No 1 in the ITF Seniors World rankings.

LTA Meritorious Service Award 2009
Vaerie Willoughby was nominated by Vets Tennis GB and Middlesex Tennis for the 2009 LTA Meritorious Service Award for her work in administering tennis in a number of spheres over a long period.  She was presented with the Award at the LTA's Annual General Meeting on 9 December by Derek Howorth, President of the LTA.
