Welcome to the world of veterans' tennis Print E-mail
  • The Veterans' Lawn Tennis Association of Great Britain was formed in 1974 to develop and promote competitive tennis for, at that time, male players of over 45 years of age and ladies over 40. We are now operating as Vets Tennis GB and cater for age groups in five year stages from 35 to 80 for men and 35 to 75 for women.
  • We have a membership of some 200 affiliated clubs who each pay a fee entitling them to enter our Inter-Club Championships and to receive general information. An application form for membership may be downloaded by clicking here. Application Form
  • We run three National Championships every year, each one over a one week period: Indoors at The Next Generation Club, Dudley; on Clay Courts at the West Hants Club, Bournemouth, at the end of May/early June; and on Grass Courts at Aorangi Park, Wimbledon in August
  • We run National Inter-Club Championships, open to our affiliated clubs, in twelve age group categories with finals at one venue in November
  • We run Inter-County events on a league basis in the spring and summer which culminate in finals at one venue in November   We encourage and offer advice on the introduction of new veterans' tournaments at local level throughout the country in pursuit of our objectives. These are set out in our Five Year Plan Strategic 2002 to 2007 - Tennis: The Game for Life. Click here
The Association is managed by an elected Council , detailed under "Officers" on the Home page.
